What to Include on a Wedding Website!

Your wedding website is the ultimate one-stop shop for your guests. It answers questions before they’re asked, keeps everyone on the same page, and saves you from replying to the same text 47 times. Whether you’re planning a big weekend celebration or an intimate one-day affair, a well-organized wedding website is an absolute must!

And creating your wedding website doesn’t have to be as scary or overwhelming as it seems. If you’re wondering what actually needs to go on your wedding website (and what you can skip), this guide breaks it all down!

1. Your Love Story

This is where guests get a glimpse into you. Share how you met, how you got engaged, or what you love most about each other, but don’t feel pressure to write a novel.

Pro tip: Aim for 1–3 short paragraphs and a gallery of some couples or engagement photos! Enough to feel personal, not enough to feel like homework.

2. Basic Wedding Details

This seems obvious, but clarity is everything here.

Be sure to include:

  • Wedding date

  • Ceremony start time

  • Ceremony location (full address)

  • Reception location (if different)

  • Any transportation notes between venues

If your ceremony and reception are at the same place be sure to say that clearly. Guests wil always appreciate not having to guess!

3. The Order of Events

This one is not quite as vital, but guests love knowing what to expect, especially if your wedding includes multiple events or a non-traditional timeline.

Examples:

  • Welcome Dinner Time and Location

  • Ceremony Time

  • Dinner Time

  • Late-night snacks!

4. Dress Code!

This is one of the most important and most overlooked sections.

Be specific and as descriptive as possible. Instead of just saying “formal,” try:

  • Black tie (optional)

  • Cocktail Attire

  • Semi-Formal

  • Something fun like “Garden Party Formal”

  • Outdoor-friendly footwear encouraged

Also feel free to add a few inspiration photos! Your guests want to look good and feel comfortable.

5. Travel

Accommodations

This will make it easy for guests traveling from out of town!

Include:

  • Hotel room blocks (with booking links and deadlines)

  • Nearest airports

  • Transportation options (rental cars, shuttles, ride share notes, or your uber code if applicable)

  • Parking information!!!!

This section alone will (hopefully) save you countless DMs.

6. Registry Information

Your wedding website is the best place to share registry details!

You can include:

  • Links to one or multiple registries

  • A brief note for guests (especially if you’re doing a honeymoon fund or no physical gifts)

Avoid mentioning gifts on your invitation, this is exactly what the website is for.

7. Rsvp Page

If you’re collecting RSVPs online (highly recommended!), this should be easy to find and simple to use.

Make sure to include:

  • RSVP deadline

  • Meal selections (if applicable)

  • Space for dietary restrictions

  • Plus-one clarity

  • Any fun questions you want to add (like a song request section!)

Be sure to test this page before sending it out! Most wedding website builders will have a way to do this.

8. FAQs (Your Secret Weapon!)

This is hands-down the most useful page on your wedding website!

Common FAQ topics:

  • Can I bring a plus-one?

  • Are kids invited?

  • What time should I arrive?

  • Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?

  • Will there be transportation?

  • Can I take photos?

  • What’s the weather usually like?

If you’ve already answered it once via text, you should IMMEDIATELY add it here!

9. Some Optional Items

There are a few things you could add to your website that aren’t super necessary, but ARE super fun!

  • Meet the Wedding Party!

  • Collage of Engagement Photos

  • Some fun things to do in the area

  • Any more information you want your guests to know!

10. Unnecessary Items

Do your best to keep it streamlined. You can skip:

  • Excessively long stories

  • Exact timelines for vendors

  • Overly personal details

  • Anything that might change frequently (unless you’ll keep it updated)

Simple, clear, and guest-focused always wins!

If you want help reviewing your website or figuring out what your specific guests need to know, that’s exactly where a wedding planner can step in and make the process easier from start to finish!
